On Friday (12/18) The U.S Food and Drug Administration granted Moderna Emergency Use Authorization for their COVID-19 vaccine in adults over 18 years old. In addition to Pfizer’s vaccine, the U.S government agreed to purchase 200 million doses from Moderna which will be distributed entirely by the end of Q2 2021. Moderna’s vaccine shows potential for easier transport and storage than Pfizer’s, as it requires negative 2 degrees Celsius temperatures rather than negative 70 degrees Celsius, making it more accessible and less costly to distribute.
