India recorded today the highest number of COVID-19 cases in a day today (4/22) at 314,835 infections, surpassing the previous record from the United States at 297,430. The exponential rise in cases have caused fear regarding hospital oxygen supply levels to treat patients afflicted with COVID, citing six different hospitals in New Delhi without access. India also broke the world record of fatalities due to COVID-19 and it’s complications, with 2,104 deaths reported; deaths could be drastically undercounted, however, as those who have passed outside of hospitals that were never officially tested and diagnosed.
